- Google Safe Browsing queried for the apex and www, over http and https — the service Chrome, Firefox and Safari use to show their warning screen.
- Certificate transparency logs re-read every day: a certificate issued for a name under the domain never seen before is flagged — often the first sign of phishing.
- The home page re-read on every pass: title, answering host, scripts loaded from other sites, meta-refresh redirects.
- The classic markers of a hacked site recognized at once: hidden iframe, code obfuscated with eval/unescape or base64, strings written character by character.
- The first pass learns without alerting; an intended change closes on its own after 24 h; a Google flag stays red until it is lifted.
