What changed, and when

DomainVigil has just launched. We have no track record to point to — so here is the pace instead, dated. Every entry matches a real deployment: nothing is written here before it exists in the product.

    Live

    The sixth watcher: site security

    • NewEvery domain is now re-read from three angles: the Google Safe Browsing flag, the certificates published for its names, and the content of its home page.
    • NewA site flagged by Google or a page containing suspicious code turns red, with the steps to follow; a title or script that changes leaves a record that closes on its own after 24 h.
    • ImprovedDomains already monitored received the watcher without you having to do anything.

    Signing in no longer needs a password

    • NewNo more password: enter your address, get a six-digit code, you are in. Creating an account and signing in are now the same gesture.
    • ImprovedNothing to choose, remember or reset — nor to have stolen. The “forgot password” and “reset” pages no longer have a purpose and now lead to sign-in.
    • NewThe five free tools are live: expiry, certificate, email authentication, blacklists, and the full health report — no sign-up.
    • NewThree guides, six feature pages, an agency page with its calculator, and a head-to-head comparison with the closest competitor.
    • NewA status link to send your client, and a monthly report in your name, ready to print.
    • FixedOur terms and privacy policy still said we stored a hashed password. That is no longer true: both were corrected the same day.

    The site fills out: pricing, questions, service status

    • NewA dedicated Pricing page, with its own billing answers: commitment, VAT, changing plan, what happens past the quota.
    • NewA Frequently asked questions page: twelve answers grouped by topic — the product, trust, money, your account.
    • NewA Service status page that queries the engine on every load, rather than showing a decorative green dot.
    • NewTwo pages for the questions nobody asks out loud: Security (we never change anything on your side) and Your data (servers in Germany, GDPR).
    • FixedOur privacy policy listed one processor fewer than it should have: Anthropic, which writes the copilot's diagnoses, is now named.

    Going live, and the copilot

    • NewThe copilot: on every alert, a likely cause and a three-step course of action, written in plain language. No more raw error message to decode.
    • NewOne-click Cloudflare import from a read-only token — encrypted on our side, and unable to change anything on yours.
    • NewThe Pro subscription, and the permanently free plan for five domains. No commitment, cancel in one click.
    • ImprovedThe full visual rebuild: light and dark themes, and real product screenshots on the home page instead of diagrams.
    • ImprovedThe portfolio finally answers “what needs my attention?”: what to deal with and what expires next, right on opening.
    • FixedSecondary text in the light theme was too pale to read comfortably; its contrast went from 5.3 to 7.5 to 1.

    The engine: five watchers, alerts, the portfolio

    • NewThe five watchers run continuously: domain expiry, SSL certificate, DNS changes, site availability, blacklist reputation.
    • NewThe per-client portfolio: every domain filed under its client, and whole lists added in one go.
    • NewAlerts by email, Slack and Discord — with automatic grouping when several land at once, so your inbox never drowns.
    • NewSettings: alert channels, language, address, password, and deleting your account along with all its data.
    • NewThe entire product in French and English, from the first screen to the alert emails.

This changelog is written by hand from the code history. An entry only appears once the version is live — never before, and never backdated.
