- The end-of-validity date, read from the certificate actually served — not from a configuration file.
- The certificate's issuer, so you immediately know where it came from and who renews it.
- The certificate chain: incomplete, it passes in recent browsers but breaks some mail clients and mobile apps.
- The match between the requested name and the names covered, wildcards included — a valid certificate on the wrong domain is still a red screen.
- Self-signed certificates, detected as such: no browser trusts them.
